In recent years, we have become more aware of the need to carry out high quality building work on a smaller scale, and as a result we have created a small works division dedicated to carrying out these works.
This may involve modifications to existing premises e.g. forming openings, demolition, new concrete slabs; or the creation of small extensions or upgrading of offices. The scope of works is extensive.
Initially the majority of these works came through our larger, well established clients like Nestle with whom we have worked alongside for over 40 years. As a food production site, working for this particular client has instilled a safe and clean work ethic which has been passed on through time.
In 2001, after several successful years of working together, we signed a partnering agreement with the lift installation company Britton Price. Our works would involve the modification and refurbishment of existing lift shafts in order for them to comply with DDA (Disability Discrimination Act). The majority of these would be in occupied care homes, which again makes Health and Safety a priority. We are proud to say the partnership is still in place today.
In 2007 our small works division carried out over £500,000 worth of contracts, ranging from £5,000 to £100,000.
